Lesson 6
Clinical Summary
The Clinical Summary screen is one of the major screens to display patient information and is designed to show much of the data that is required to manage a patient. As can be seen, the patient name, hospital numbers, date of birth and gender are displayed at the top of the screen and remain visible when scrolling down the screen.
Some basic clinical information is shown just below the patient identifiers with Renal Diagnosis, date of ESRF, most recent observations such as BP, weight and BMI and most recent selected blood results. Below that are the patient’s Problem List and their current medication list.
When looking at an individual patient on the screen, on the left hand side is a list of links (called the Left Gutter) which can be used to access particular aspects of a patient’s data. These range from the Clin Summary screen, Demographics through Dialysis sections such as HD and PD to Bookmarking a patient or adding them to the Worryboard. Clicking on each title opens the relevant screen or triggers the action.
